Afghan boxing team leaves for Qatar

Afghanistan national boxing team left the country on Tuesday to attend the international competitions in Qatar.

A seven member team including four athletes, an international referee, manager of team and a coach will representing Afghanistan in Qatar’s competitions.

Afghan boxers will fight in the ring in four weights; 49, 60, 64 and 69 kilogram.

Qatar Boxing Federation organized, on May 19-24, 2015, the Doha International Boxing Tournament at Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Multipurpose Sports Hall.

About 100 boxers from different countries will participate in this tournament, which will be a dress rehearsal for the World Boxing Championship to be held in Doha later in October.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan Free Fight team will participate in the fifth Asian championship in Tajikistan.

Twelve Asian countries including Afghanistan will fight at the arena to gain the Asian Cup in Tajikistan.

Afghan Free Fighters have achieved many acceptable honors in Asian level during the past years.
