The Afghan government has signed an agreement with Pakistan’s military intelligence (ISI) on mutual cooperation to fight against terrorism.

Preliminary reports suggest that the agreement allows Pakistan intelligence to train and equip the Afghan spy agency.

A large number of Afghan lawmakers criticized signing of this agreement with Pakistan on Monday session, and asked the house to summon National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials to provide justification on the pact signed.

On the condition of anonymity, a security source has said to Ariana News that NDS director, Rahmatullah Nabil was against the agreement signed with Pakistan spy agency (ISI), but the agreement was signed by NDS deputy.

This agreement comes as Afghan officials have long been criticizing ISI for supporting the insurgency in Afghanistan.
