The First Vice-President of Afghanistan, General Abdul Rashid Dostum was accused for violence and sexual abuse against one of his rivals.
Ahmad Ishchi who was beaten and kidnapped in a public game of Buzkashi late last month says he was violently kidnapped and sexually assaulted by Vice-President of Afghanistan.
Ischi, the former governor of Jowzjan said Dostum and ten of his men assaulted him while Dostum was keeping him in his personnel prison for five days.
Gen. Dostum denied the accusation of Ishchi, describing it as an attempt by especial circles to defame him.
A statement released by the office of the VP Dostum said he was detained by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) for his involvement in insecurities and funding the anti-government elements.
After Ishchi was released by the country’s intelligence agency he appeared in a TV interview describing his detention under Gen. Dostum men said,” Dostum pushed me on the ground, pressed his leg on my throat and abused me. Then he took me to his house. When I arrived at his house, he shouted at his guards that bring me out of the car. He ordered his eight guards to undress me. They even pulled off my trousers”.
The Afghan Presidential Palace in a statement promised a thorough investigation into the accusations.
Following the accusations the United States, United Kingdom, United Nations in Afghanistan and the European Union called for an investigation into the reported mistreatment of Ahmad Ishchi, who only re-emerged on Saturday after disappearing for two weeks.
