ANHAM owes $81.6 million to Afghan gov’t of taxes

The US logistical and Transportation company called ANHAM has owed $ 81,576,000 for illegal importing of armored vehicles into Afghanistan on the years of 2010-2012.

Documents accessed by Ariana News indicated that the following company has imported 515 armored vehicles into Afghanistan illegally and hasn’t paid the taxes of the vehicles.

Officials in Afghanistan Supreme court has ordered the confiscation of all properties owned by the following company in Afghanistan, the bank accounts should frozen, and armored vehicles should be prohibited from moving.

Officials in Government of Afghanistan mentioned that ANHAM neither has paid the taxes for the custom departments nor from the rental of the cars which the rent of one of the armored vehicle on monthly basis is $ 18000.

Afghanistan Supreme Court Spokesman Basir Azizi said,” ANHAM’s properties and bank accounts are to confiscated and frozen and the following vehicles will be parked.”

According to Deputy Spokesman of Interior Affairs Najeebullah Danish we have stopped 95 armored vehicles belong to ANHAM company, same measurements will be adopted for the other ANHAM vehicles.”

Officials in Afghanistan Supreme court claimed that we have sent invitation letters to ANHAM address to come to Supreme Court and resolve the issue but received no respond yet.

Meanwhile Ministry of Finance Spokesman Ajmal Hameed AbdulRahimzai said,” based on the draft of the Afghanistan cabinet, one week opportunity has been given to all companies, institutions which has paid no taxes for the Afghanistan custom departments to clear their issue up March 08, 2016.”

Senator Zalmay Zabuli said.” ANHAM is a mafia company where Afghanistan Government hasn’t been capable to receive taxation since several years.”

Ariana News has tried to get hold of the following company to have views but couldn’t, officials in Supreme Court has told to Ariana News that the ANHAM case is under review.

ANHAM Company has been working in Afghanistan at Bagram base to provide logistical, transportation, mechanical services for the US Army in Bagram airport in the past several years.
