The electoral observers of Presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah have rejoined the audit process of votes cast in the election run-off.

Stopped several times, the “Audit of All Votes” process restarted Sunday afternoon without the presence of the observers of protesting candidate Abdullah Abdullah.

Abdullah’s team had boycotted the audit process and refused to enter into the process, however, the election commission strictly announced Saturday that the process would no longer be postponed.

However, the Abdullah observers rejoined the process but insisted on their old preconditions they proposed for audit procedure.

“The purpose of audit process is to separate fraudulent votes from clean ones but if such a thing not seen in the process and it is useless to continue with,” said Fazl Ahmad Manavi, technical head of Abdullah’s election team.

But the electoral team of Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai rejects any kind of changes in the criteria for invalidation of ballots.

“We cannot accept even the smallest change in the criteria,” said Halim Fidai, observer of Ahmadzai.
