Bishkek hosts 5th EU-Central Asia meeting on Afghanistan

Kyrgyz Republic this week hosted a meeting of European Union and Central Asia special representatives who came together to discuss Afghanistan.

The meeting was held in Bishkek on February 13 and 14 and was hosted by the Kyrgyz Republic’s ministry of foreign affairs.

Also in attendance was the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.

The participants discussed current developments in Afghanistan and the UN-led process ahead of the second Doha meeting scheduled for later this month.

They also held an online exchange of views with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and diplomatic missions of Central Asian countries and diplomatic missions based in Kabul.
