Car Bomb Targets U.S. Forces Convoy in Kabul, Killing 4

A car bomb blast targeting the U.S Forces convoy killed at least four civilians and injured seven others in the capital Kabul city on Friday morning, Interior Ministry (MoI) confirmed. 

Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for Ministry of Interior Affairs told Ariana News that the incident occurred in Qala-e-Wazir area in PD9 of Kabul at around 8:40am on Friday.

Rahimi said, as a result, at least four civilians were killed and three others wounded in the incident.

“There were a lot of civilians that is why more people got killed and injured,” said Mirwais, an eyewitness of the incident. 

According to Rahimi, the blast targeted a foreign forces convoy at the area. He did not give further details about the incident.

The Taliban militant group in a statement claimed responsibility for the attack.

The group claimed that at least 10 foreign soldiers were killed in the incident.

However, the U.S forces in a statement confirmed that four of their soldiers were injured.

It comes as, a suicide attack happened near the main gate of Marshal Fahim military university in PD5 of Kabul on Thursday afternoon, in which at least six people were killed.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the Thursday’s suicide bombing.
