Chinese company to import trucks and excavation machinery

A Chinese company is set to establish a truck and heavy machinery business in Afghanistan, the ministry of commerce and industry said Tuesday.

According to a statement, Shin Jin Co., Ltd, will invest $20 million in business operations in Afghanistan.

This week, the deputy minister Ahmadullah Zahid met with a representative of the company. The representative, named by the ministry only as Ying, said his company is ready to do business in the country.

He said they will import trucks and heavy excavation machinery and will open a showroom. Ying said a workshop to repair and service the vehicles will also be established.

Together, this will create about 50 jobs, he said.

Zahid reiterated in their meeting that there are many opportunities available for investors. He said: “Domestic and foreign investors have the same privileges in the field of investment.”
