Commanders of army battalion in Jaram district introduced to general attorney

Commanders of Afghan army’s battalion and company in Jaram district of Badakhshan were arrested and introduced to the general attorney due to the negligence in their job, the ministry of defense said.

Reports suggest that while Taliban militants attacked to Afghan security headquarters the military commanders of the province were in their soiree and fun parties.

The ministry of defense accepted that after Taliban inflicted heavy casualties to Afghan forces they also seized weapons and equipment but they defense ministry reminded that those who are accused of negligence will be punished.

“We have formed a commission to review and investigate the incident of Jaram district,” Dawlat Waziri, deputy spokesman of the defense ministry said.

Meanwhile, some sources in Presidential Palace said that according to the decision of National Security Council, the commanders of army’s battalion in Badakhshan will be dismissed.

The Human Rights Commission also said to consider beheading more than 20 Afghan soldiers a barbaric action and a war crime by Taliban.

A number of Parliament representatives and military analysts accused the senior security officials including the chief of army staff of negligence and demand of their dismissal.

“The recent incident in Jaram district indicates that military commanders cooperated with armed Taliban,” Zalmai Mujadadi, member of parliament said.
