Commission tasked to investigate Jalrez Carnage
President Ghani has strongly condemned Jalrez tragedy and called it a war crime on the National Security Council session held on Sunday.
He assigned a commission to investigate accurately the bloody incident and report back to the presidency within three days.
The President further emphasized that any negligence will be punished and called for more coordination among the security organs to prevent the repetition of such incidents.
In addition, Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of Afghanisan who was speaking at the minister’s council on Monday morning also condemned the Taliban attacks and promised that anyone who has neglected on Jalrez incident will be investigated seriously.
“We will seriously investigate any dereliction of duty by anyone.”
He says preliminary reports suggest negligence on Jalrez district tragedy.
At least 30 ALP members were killed in the fighting last week as Taliban insurgents launched a coordinated attack on a series of ALP checkpoints in Jalrez district of Maidan Wardak in which surviving members accused the Interior Ministry of failing to send forces to help the ALP.
