Dual citizenship of cabinet nominees causes Parliament remains in brawl

The Lower House of the Parliament – Wolesi Jirga on Thursday faced another obstacle among the lawmakers over the rejection of cabinet nominees holding dual citizenship.
Shukria Barikzai, member of Wolesi Jirga said a poll should be set up for those nominees holding dual citizenship.
Disregard of a number of representatives on Thursday session in parliament caused the deputy of Wolesi Jirga, Sidiq Ahamd Osmani calls on media outlets to broadcast the irregularities.
Some of Wolesi Jirga members emphasized that all Jirga members should act as their commitments and refrain from dealing.
Many Afghans with higher degrees hold second passports because they lived abroad during Afghanistan’s decades of war before and during the Taliban’s hard-line Islamist rule that was toppled by the U.S.-led intervention in 2001.
