Final Result To Come This week: IEC
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has said the final result of Presidential Election will be announced in next five or six days.
IEC spokesman Noor Muhammad Noor said Saturday that discussions were underway to put an end to remaining stages of vote audit and also finalize the date for announcing the final result.
“We promise to end the election process and no longer extend the longest process to weeks and months,” Noor told a press conference in Kabul.
He added 80 percent of votes have been audited and nearly 16,000 of polling sites have also been audited and results have been posted into system.
According to the election commission, results of audited and invalidated ballots would be sent to the campaigning teams of electoral candidates.
Noor mentioned cooperation of international observers could help accelerate the process.
