Finance ministry signs contract to strengthen transport network
Afghanistan finance ministry signed a contract on Tuesday to strengthen the transport network in Afghanistan.
The finance ministry allocated $ 146 million from Asian Development Bank (ADB), European Union (EU) and the country’s development budget to strengthen the transport network.
The Asian Development Bank has pledged $ 109 million of aids for the construction of 108 Kilometer of Baharak-Ashkasham Street in Badakhshan province.
Akil Hakimi, the finance minister said, “Four major development projects will be implemented by the aids, that the construction of Baharak-Ashkasham Street in Badakhshan, Railroad construction and transport support stations are among them.”
The Asian Development Bank Also emphasized on the continued cooperation and support for the development of the country’s transport network.
ADB’s representative in Afghanistan said, “Asian development bank is committed to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive transportation network in Afghanistan.”
Noor Gul Mangal, the acting minister of public works also added that the construction of Baharak-Ashkasham Street will be implemented in the next year.
