Ghani named Deh Mazang Square as ‘Martyrs Square’

President Ashraf Ghani has named Deh Mazang square as martyrs square following a deadly attack in Kabul.

According to a statement released by the Afghan presidential office the Square was named as ‘Martyrs Square’ to honor and respect the victims of the brutal attack on democracy.

“The square was named so future generations can remember, democracy was achieved at what cost,” the statement said.

According to the report the President has also tasked Kabul mayor to take necessary administrative actions in this regard.

At least 80 people were killed and 231 others wounded after a suicide bombing claimed by Daesh hit a peaceful demonstration in Kabul on Saturday.
