Gov’t Calls Russia-Taliban Alliance a Big Mistake
Moscow representative for Kabul has declared that Russia and Taliban have common interests and claimed his country is in contact with the Taliban group.
But Kabul sees the relation dangerous for Afghanistan and the region.
“We have a bilateral and multilateral relations with Russia and their relation with a terrorist group is not acceptable,” said Jawid Faisal, deputy spokesman of Executive Office.
Russia concerns over the presence of Daesh group in Afghanistan; a group that seeks to reach the Central Asian.
“Russia makes a big mistake that supports Taliban, the armed Taliban group is dangerous and is vulnerable for Afghanistan and the region,” said Sidiq Sidiqi, spokesman of the interior ministry.
However, analysts say Russia want to use Taliban to set up a proxy war against the Daesh group in Afghanistan.
“Russia has no common interest with the Taliban. The country cooperates with Taliban to suppress the Daesh group in Afghanistan, but this proxy war will strengthen Afghanistan,” said Khalid Pashton, representative of Parliament.
Kabul has repeatedly urged the regional countries to cooperate with Afghanistan in fighting against extremism but it seems that some countries have found their interest in other places.
