Haqqani unhappy about unqualified people securing govt posts
Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani on Monday raised concerns about the number of unqualified government employees in the country.
Addressing Shaikh Zayed University graduates in Khost province, he said: “It is very painful to us that unprofessional people secure professional posts.”
The minister also stressed the importance of unity in the country.
“Instead of standing at the doors of foreign countries, accept hardships in your home country and develop yourself,” Haqqani said.
The appointment of unqualified people in government has sparked criticism against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).
Experts say the more professional people in government, the smaller the gap will be between the government and people.
“Running government affairs with people without expertise is impossible,” said Abdul Jabbar Akbari, a political expert.
“IEA leaders, especially Sirajuddin Haqqani, raising the issue will benefit the IEA.”
