Helmand mother gives birth to quintuplets
According to Rahel, four of the newborns are in good health, while one is currently receiving intensive medical care.
A woman in Afghanistan’s Helmand province has given birth to quintuplets — three boys and two girls — in a rare and remarkable event.
Health officials report that the mother and most of the newborns are in stable condition, although one of the infants remains in critical care.
Mirwali Rahel, spokesperson for the Helmand Department of Public Health, confirmed that the quintuplets were delivered successfully at the Bost Hospital in Lashkargah city on Monday.
According to Rahel, four of the newborns are in good health, while one is currently receiving intensive medical care.
He added that medical teams are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the well-being of both the mother and her children.
The successful delivery marks a significant achievement for the region’s healthcare services, and hospital staff continue to provide necessary support during the critical postnatal period.
