Iranian official: Will fight illegal immigrants like in war
Mehdi Bab Al-Hawaeji, the deputy governor of Tehran, has warned that they will fight illegal immigrants like in war.
Addressing the officials of Ray city of Tehran, Bab al-Hawaeji said: “Today, confronting illegal immigrants in Ray city is like fighting in a war. It’s like when our children took up arms, came out and were martyred.”
He continued: “There are landmines around our families – moral, social, and economic landmines.”
Bab al-Hawaeji said that there are also legal refugees who break laws and their presence is a threat.
He stated that fining is not enough and officials should use their other powers.
The official warned real estate consultants and property dealers that they will be prosecuted if they provide houses to illegal immigrants.
This comes as the Iranian government repatriates hundreds of undocumented Afghans to their country every day.
