NDS Rescues Kidnapped Indian Engineers From Logar

The National Directorate of Security (NDS)—Afghanistan’s intelligence agency—has rescued three Indian engineers from Taliban captivity.

NDS in a statement announced Saturday that these engineers were freed during a special raid conducted in Babos area of unrest Logar province.

These employees of SOASI were abducted last Wednesday from Waghjan valley when they were in the way from Logar to capital Kabul, the statement added.

The abductors had planned to transport the abducted employees to Quetta City, capital of western Baluchistan province of Pakistan, according to intelligence officials.

One person has been detained in connection to this abduction.

The NDS in the statement has asked the foreign nationals to have escort of security agencies while traveling to unrest areas.
