NDS seizes explosives-laden vehicle in Paktika

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has seized two vehicles packed with explosives in southeastern Paktika province of Afghanistan.

According to a statement released by NDS two explosive-laden vehicles belong to the Haqqani terrorist network with 12,500 KG Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered and detained by the Afghan spy agency members in the province aimed at targeting the innocent Afghans.

NDS says the trafficker, named Rafiq, was also arrested along the explosive materials during the operations.

Paktika, bordering Pakistan, is one of Afghanistan’s volatile regions, where Taliban-led insurgency groups are actively operating in a number of its districts against the Afghan government.
