NUG Loses Legitimacy After Two years: National Agenda
Nearly Two years passed since the formation of NUG, but the government still has the harsh criticisms of its critics.
The National Agenda for NUG says that the durability of this government is two years based on its political agreement.
“The National Unity Government even failed to solve its own problems in these two years. This government is a coalition mission for power-sharing,” said Ahmad Wali Masoud, Head of National Agenda.
Failure in holding a Loya Jirga, Parliamentary and provincial council election and the distribution of electronic ID cards are the main points that the national agenda focuses on it.
The National Agenda noted that the agreement is the infrastructure of government’s legitimacy, but none of its articles implemented correctly.
“Based on this agreement, the National Unity Government has been formed, but none of the its cases have been implemented,” added Masoud.
The negative impact on government legitimacy has been severe. According to a recent poll conducted by ATR Consulting, a majority of the population are “not satisfied at all” with Ghani’s government. Abdullah’s rating is similarly low.
