Only Hezb-i- Islami Prisoners Will Be Released: Anwar

The Minister of Justice of Afghanistan AbdulBasir Anwar urged that I will not allow Taliban, drug smugglers, criminals and other terrorists to be released with Hezb-i- Islami prisoners. amid Governmental sources claimed that among 2000 prisoners there would be Taliban, terrorists, criminals, drug dealers are included.

Earlier Government of Afghanistan has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hezb-i-Islami for joining peace process, it would release 2600 prisoners from Afghanistan’s jails.

Minister of Justice AbdulBasir Anwar said, “We will not allow criminals, drug dealers or anybody else to be released along with the Hezb-i-Islami prisoners, and the action will be taken under the law and regulation.”

Meanwhile concerns in rise that corrupted cases and documents are rarely implemented within the Governmental departments.

“21 percent of Human rights documents has been implemented, 49 percent will be implemented in the future.” Minister of Justice AbdulBasir Anwar said.

Afghans have bitter experiences out of releasing of prisoners in the past, dozen Taliban fighters were set free in former Government run by the former President Hamid Karzai where most of them re-joined the Taliban ranks to fight against Afghan Government.
