Roadside bombing kills 12 civilians in Ghazni
A roadside bomb killed 12 civilians in Ghogyani district of Ghazni province on Friday, local officials said.
Asadullah Insafi, Gen. Security commander of Ghazni confirmed the incident, saying the blast occurred when a Tones vehicle struck with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Khogyani area.
Insafi noted that women and children also include among the victims of the incident.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility behind the incident so far.
As the weather warms up, attacks from militants moving into Afghanistan across the mountains that border Pakistan are expected to intensify.
Friday’s blast come a day after 18 people were killed when Taliban insurgents mounted a six-hour gun and grenade siege on a courthouse in the usually tranquil northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
