Security forces, especially Police have support of Afghan people: CEO

The chief of executive officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah said that Afghan security forces, especially Police have the support of Afghan people in nationwide combat.

A 3-day summit of police officials of all provinces of Afghanistan held on Tuesday in the ministry of interior to review and assess the security situation in the country.

CEO, Abdullah Abdullah praised Police’s efforts in providing security in the summit and said that people’s support also caused Afghan forces to have great achievements.

“We trust on security forces, especially Police. We expect Afghan police commanders to do more efforts in providing security and attracting public support will be essential key to our success.” Abdullah said.

In the meantime, the ministry of interior said that the security situation of the country is under serious evaluation and great operational programs will be launched to provide better security by the beginning of next year.

Norrulhaq Ulomi, minister of interior said, “Providing security is our responsibility and the Afghan people and the international community will be alongside of us and support security forces.”

Meanwhile, US army general, John Campbell emphasized on America’s support from Afghanistan and stressed that America will have a long-term role in mission in Afghanistan.

“We praise Gen. Ulomi as Afghanistan interior minister and finally I must say that Afghan security forces will have the overwhelming support of America.” Campbell noted.

All Afghanistan’s security challenges, lack of police forces and security situation of the country will be assess in this 3-day summit.

Launching operations in conjunction with the New Year, preventing possible threats by terrorist groups will be the basic programs which the interior ministry emphasized on them.
