Selection Committee vows to select electoral members without discrimination

Members of the Selecting Committee in their first official meetings on Thursday selected their chief.

The Committee has also demanded volunteers to nominate for membership in election commission with the given purposed features.

This comes as Din Muhammad Geran elected as the chairman and Fahim Dashti as the spokesman of the committee.

The selecting committee promised to honestly and without discrimination select nominees for electoral commissions .

The eligible candidates who are eager to rejester for membership of electoral commission must have:

– Afghanistan citizenship

– license of higher education

– At least five years experience in government and none-government organization.

– Completing at least the age of 35.

– Lack of conviction for humanity crimes.

– Non-membership in political parties.

Meanwhile, the committee in response to the rejection of the amendment of electoral laws by Parliament said, “We do not consider the amendment rejected. Based on law, the Senate House response is still unclear. If the Senate confirms, the joint committee will be set.”

Following to the end of Election Reforms Commission tasks, the Selecting Committee begin works to select new commissioners for electoral commissions.
