Senators insist for Transparency of Kabul Bank case
On Tuesday session Meshrano Jirga (The Upper House of Representatives) urged the special court for Kabul Bank embezzlement scandals to act transparently on the decisions and verdicts which are going to be made.
The senate speaker, Fazel Hadi Muslimyar said,” those who have betrayed the Afghanistan banking system must be punished seriously.”
A number of senators stated that it is a month since the decree has been issued by the President, but the court has not issued any verdict so far.
Senator Hedayatullah Rehyee said,” a few accused were detained and presented to the court, but most of the accused have escaped out of the country, the law must be applied on everyone not only over those who do not have political support or positions in the government.”
This statements come after the Court of Appeals sentenced the 2 accused shareholders of Kabul Bank the Founder, Shirkhan Farnood and Ex-CEO, Khalilullah Ferozi including another 7 The Afghanistan Central Bank and Kabul Bank employees who were involved in the case to prison and obliged to pay the money they have embezzled.
After inauguration of the National Unity Government, President Ghani signed a decree to reopen the inquiry on Kabul Bank crisis and reinvestigate the case within 45 working days, the suspense will last in another 3 days.
