Six family members killed in insurgents planted bomb in Kandahar

Six members of a family including four women were killed in a roadside blast in southern Kandahar province.

Provincial governor spokesman, Samim Ekhpelwak has said that a roadside bomb killed four women and two men who were all members of a single family in Taghrok area of Shah Wali Kot district on Friday afternoon.

Adding, according to the reports the mine was planted by armed Taliban insurgents, but no Taliban officials have confirmed this attack.

Kandahar is among the volatile provinces in the country where armed insurgents are actively operating in a number of its districts.
