Sixteen Taliban Militants Killed or Wounded in Farah Clashes
At least five Taliban insurgents were killed and 11 others wounded during clashes with the Afghan security forces in Farah province, a local official said on Wednesday.
Muhibullah Muhib, a spokesman for Farah police told Ariana News that the Taliban militants attacked a security check post at Dahak area in central Farah on Tuesday night.
According to Muhib, at least two Taliban militants were killed and 7 others injured in the clashes with security forces.
Meanwhile, the insurgents also stormed a military convoy at Farah rod area in Bala Bulok district of the province, where at least 3 militants were killed and 4 others wounded, he said.
The Taliban has not made a comment about the incidents yet.
Farah is among the insecure provinces in western Afghanistan, where the Taliban insurgents operate in a number of its district.
