Social Media Week Held At Nai headquarter

Nai supporting open media in Afghanistan held social media week in Kabul at main office saying the Government should provide more facilities for social media expending throughout the country.

Based on the survey launched by Nai supporting open media in Afghanistan, about one million and three hundred thousand are using social media in Afghanistan.

Social media slow has positioned its place among young generation in Afghanistan, despite of traditional journalism, the new journalism is being institutionalized across the country.

Nai supporting open media held social media week under the new slogan of different point of views doesn’t mean to become enemies in social media.

One of the biggest achievements of the Afghan Government was the over vast growth of communication in the past 13 years, this has caused that the number of the social media users significantly to be increased.

General Executive of Nai Abdul Mujeebkhavatgar said,” about one million Afghans are accessing facebook ,and about two hundred thousands are using twitter,the rest are using web blogs, emails, flickers, instagram in general one million three hundred thousand are accessing social median throughout the country.”

In past several years social media activities has created huge revolution on spreading words and information, advocacy, combating corruption, ignoring laws,reflexing the reality and facts.

But the negative points of the social media specially on facebook has been desecration, insults, blackmailing, assassination of personalities ,and in some points even sexual insult.

Whatever is being published in social media specially on facebook is kind of giving information to others in most cases it impacts the other’s life said a resident.

 Most of young Afghans are accessing social media they are busy reading information through social media,but there are some who are misusing the social media and trying to get benefited the other resident said.

Young generation could easily developed and progressed using social media from positive perspective the other resident said.

Despite of internet is globally being used but Afghanistan and Afghan generation still face several limitation on accessing internet through the country,such as high price of internet,limit areas not being covered by internet.
