Suicide attack killed 25 local fighters, 4 civilians in Kunduz
An explosion killed 25 local fighters and 4 civilians in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan, a local official confirmed.
On Saturday evening a suicide bomber who was riding a Toyota vehicle attacked a group of local fighters in Khan Abad district which killed 29 people and injured 19 others, Hayatullah Amiri district governor said.
Amiri added, four civilians including two children were included among the deaths.
Residents condemned attacks on civilians and asked the government to avoid the repetition of such incidents.
Khan Abad is among the volatile districts in Kunduz province where anti-government insurgents groups actively operating in a number of its villages.
Taliban insurgents usually attack security checkpoints in the district, but this was the first suicide attack in 2015.
