Suicide blast kills 27 civilians in eastern Khost

Twenty seven civilians were killed and nine others were injured in a suicide attack in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan on Sunday, provincial official said.

Faizullah Ghayrat, provincial police chief confirmed the attack saying the suicide bomber carried out his car bomb attack near Camp Chapman, a foreigner military base late on Sunday evening.

He added, all causalities were civilians including women and children.

Security officials have not commented about foreign member’s causalities, but a NATO statement says no U.S. or coalition personnel were injured as a result of the attack.

 No group has claimed the responsibility behind the attack.
