Taliban storms Kunduz, clashes continues

Taliban fighters have launched coordinated attacks in the central city of northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan.

On the condition of anonymity a security source told to Ariana News that Taliban militants have attacked over the city from four sides.

Adding, if the government fails to deploy fresh troops; the province fears to fall under the Taliban’s control.

But provincial police spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hussaini on Monday said at least 20 insurgents were killed and dozens of others including three Afghan security forces were wounded.

He said heavy clashes still continue between the insurgents and the Afghan security forces in Khak Kami area of Dasht-e Archi district.

Kunduz is among the volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where anti-government Taliban militants operate in a number of its districts widely since the Taliban have announced their spring offensive.
