Taliban strong underground bases face Afghan military operations to problems

A number of Afghan troops say that defeating Taliban in Dand Ghori district would be difficult without air forces support and heavy military equipments.

Dand Ghori district is one of the important parts of Pul-e Khomri city of Baghlan province. Taliban is threatening other parts of Pul-e Khomri with arson but the Afghan troops launched a widspread operation to drive Taliban out of the district.

However, Afghan soldiers who considered themselves succeed against Taliban say that their weapons against the concrete base of the Taliban have little performances.

Meanwhile, General Murad Ali Murad, deputy of chief of staff warned over increase of Taliban offensive in spring season and instructed all Afghan security forces to use all facilities to supress the armed Taliban group.

Afghan security forces launched massive operations against the Taliban bastion in Dand-e-Ghori district of the northern Baghlan province on Tuesday, few days ago.

According to the Dand-e-Ghori accord, the Afghan security forces are not allowed to launch military operations in the area and they cannot arrest anyone without the permission of tribal elders. It is believed that this will give more courage to insurgents to extend their activities in the area.
