U.S, Britain promise not to abandon Afghanistan
British Prime Minister, David Cameron and U.S secretary of state, John Kerry promised not to abandon Afghanistan government and to support Afghan people.
London conference on Afghanistan ended with the commitments of the international community to Afghanistan national unity government after the end of NATO’s combat mission in Afghanistan.
British Prime minister, David Cameron has said that Afghanistan now has an opportunity to have a stable and prosperous future.
David Cameron assured Afghans that “we are with you every step of the way.”
Cameron emphasized on fighting against corruption in Afghanistan and stressed that Afghanistan faces many challenges.
However, President Ghani was confident that Afghanistan would overcome its challenges.
Meanwhile, U.S secretary of state, John Kerry said, “”We are committed to ensuring that Afghanistan can never again be used as a safe haven from which terrorists can threaten the international community,”
“We know that the most effective way to advance this objective is to support Afghanistan’s political unity and its security.” Kerry added.
The London conference on Afghanistan was co-hosted by David Cameron and President Ghani that which the aim of the conference was to offering a unique opportunity to secure continued support from the international community for Afghanistan’s long term development and stability.
