United Arab Emirates companies seek to invest in Afghanistan
The United Arab Emirates and other regional countries are seeking to invest in Afghanistan’s power, agriculture, oil and gas exploration, telecom and civil aviation sectors.
One of the UAE construction companies, DAMAC arrived in Afghanistan with a high delegation to assess the conditions in Afghanistan.
Sayed Furqan, DAMAC marketing director said, “Afghanistan is on way toward a bright future and we want to invest in Afghanistan.”
A number of local advertising companies which work to encourage foreign companies to invest in Afghanistan said that the foreign companies are eager to invest in several sectors in Afghanistan.
Companies in the emirates are also seeking opportunities in other fields – etisalat runs a mobile service in Afghanistan and Dnata has a joint venture company, Duniya Travels, there.
This comes as Afghan investors claimed that foreign investors are eager to invest in Afghanistan if the government solves investment problems.
