UNSC reviews report of women’s rights violations in Afghanistan

The United Nations Human Rights Council begins its 56th session, thanks week. part of which is dedicated to discussing the human rights situation in Afghanistan.

In this meeting, Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur for Afghanistan, is supposed to present a report on the human rights situation in Afghanistan.

In his 21-page report, Bennett accused the Islamic Emirate of violating human rights and demanded the lifting of restrictions against Afghan women.called on the international community to raise their voices and take practical action for the rights of Afghan women and girls.

However, the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly said that women’s Shariah rights have been secured in Afghanistan.
