US, Taliban Negotiators Concluded Sixth Round of Talks in Qatar
Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban insurgent group said in a statement that some progress made on the draft agreement prepared in the last round of talks.
He added that both sides will consult with their leaders and discuss the remaining points in the next round of talks.
According to Mujahid, this round of talks was positive and constructive since both sides have listened to each other with care and patience.
The sixth round of Doha talks began on the 1st of May.
In October, U.S. and Taliban agreed in a draft on withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan in return for a Taliban guarantee that Afghanistan will not be used by militants to threaten the U.S. and the world.
The U.S. delegation expected to focus on an intra-Afghan dialogue and negotiations, and a reduction in violence.
So far, the U.S. officials have not made a comment about the outcome of the sixth round of talks.
