20th death anniversary of martyred Abdul Ali Mazari commemorated in Kabul

The 20th death anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari, the martyred Hazara leader of Afghanistan was commemorated today in Kabul.

well-known political figures, members of cabinet, religious personalities, Jehadi leaders, some members of the supreme court, high ranking military and civil authorities, ulema, intellectuals, diplomats, lecturers of universities, a huge number of the men and women students and others attended the death ceremony in Kabul.

All the speakers paid their respect and tribute to the Shaheed Mazari, saying he was fabled for his strong stance on justice. The speakers also discussed the current political situation in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan ex-ruler, Hamid Karzai also urged Afghan people in the ceremony to maintain their unity and integration.

“Afghanistan’s progress and improvement depends on education of Afghan young generation. Let’s try to support our government that our country reaches to a permanent prosperity and stability.” Karzai said.

In the meantime, Afghanistan second vice president is said to consider improvements in Peace Talks with Taliban promising and assured people no talks and negotiations to be carried out in secret.

Abdul Ali Mazari was born in 1946 in the village of Charkent, located south of the northern city of Mazari Sharif.
He began his schooling in theology at the local village school, and later proceeded to Mazari Sharif where he continued his education. Later in his life he travelled to Qom, which is in Iran and to Najaf in Iraq.
Abdul Ali Mazari, the charismatic Hazara leader was killed by Taliban on March 12, 1995. He sacrificed his life for civil and political rights, justice, equality and the elimination of discrimination from the socio-political sphere of Afghanistan. His death anniversary is annually observed by thousands of people across the country and abroad.
