3 Day Polio Vaccination Campaign Begins in Kabul

Health Providers in Ministry of Public health have confirmed that 28 positive cases of polio were recorded at the entire country last year.

Minister of public health while giving speeches in the first spring campaign vaccination of polio has said,” efforts are underway to un-root the following disasters among the children across the country.”

Meanwhile World Health Organization representatives in Afghanistan said,” this will be the last year for Afghanistan to un-root such disaster among the children.”

Positive cases of polio have been recorded in different countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Nigeria.

Minister of public health Feruziddin Feruz said,” 28 positive cases of the polio were recorded in provinces of Laghman, Kunar, Nangarhar, Uruzgan, Khost, Farah, Patika, Kandahar, Ghazni, Zabul, and helmand.”

He also insisted that Emergency plans are underway for children in district and villages levels to have access to such treatment and there are some other education programs to raise the public awareness to decrease the level of disaster.

WHO representative in Afghanistan Richard peppercorn said,” final decision has been made Afghanistan should combat against such virus and this year of 2015 will be the last year for it.”

Officials in Ministry of public health intend to build health care center for doing polio vaccinations even at the insecure district level permanently.
