Afghan media outlets have boycotted the public sessions of parliament due to its employees’ mistreatment, particularly the staffs of assembly’s secretariat.

A number of journalists say the parliament’s staffs are always insulting and humiliating them and this problem continues.

“As we always come to the National Assembly to cover news stories, the parliament employees behave badly with us; even they do not stop their humiliations,” said Feroz Baktash, one of the journalists.

“We have repeatedly suggested to properly behave with journalists who come for covering news, but unfortunately, this problem has always been overlooked,” said Basir Fetry, another journalist.

Meanwhile, a number of parliament representatives criticized the behavior of parliaments’ staffs against journalists.

“We have witnessed how badly they behave with the journalists. We seriously criticize their behavior,” said Ramazan Bashar Dost, representative of Kabul.

This comes as the representatives of media outlets warned to not cover the public sessions of parliament, until their problems not addressed.
