Afghan refugee found dead at Jakarta railway station
According to Ade Ary, before his death, Nazari was seen jumping from the platform. However, the authorities are still investigating the cause of his death.
An Afghan refugee was found dead at a railway station in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Wednesday, local media reported.
Mohammad Yasin Nazari, 36, was found dead on Platform 1 at Sudirman Station, Central Jakarta, Jakarta Globe newspaper reported.
The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said that the tragic incident occurred at 05:15 a.m. local time.
According to Ade Ary, before his death, Nazari was seen jumping from the platform. However, the authorities are still investigating the cause of his death.
“At 04:30 a.m., the victim arrived at Sudirman Station. He jumped from Platform 1 at Sudirman Station as a commuter train was passing towards Tanah Abang at around 05:15 a.m.,” he said on Wednesday night.
Nazari was found with injuries on his face. His body was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for further examination.
