Afghanistan’s war, longest war in international coalition forces history: Hagel

US secretary of defense, Chuck Hagel is said to consider Afghanistan’s war the complex and longest war in the international coalition forces history.

Chuck Hagel in the last days of his mission appeared in NATO’s summit in Brussels.

Hegel whose mission ends with NATO’s combat mission in Afghanistan considers Afghanistan a different country than the past 13 years.

US secretary of defense said that during the past 13 years NATO’s coalition in Afghanistan trained more than 370,000 Afghan security forces which helped Afghans for the six-fold growth in the economy and creation of unprecedented opportunities.

He noted that Afghanistan had tremendous progress in the past 13 years but still there are threats exist in the country.

“I am sure that Afghan forces are able to defend their country” Hagel added.

Chuck Hagel stressed that NATO’s new mission in training and consulting the Afghan security forces continues up to the next two years.
