AWN Demands NUG to Introduce 4 Women in New Cabinet

Afghan Women Network has demanded the National Unity Government to introduce 4 Women as the new Ministers Nominees within the cabinet for the Parliament to receive confidence votes.

During a peaceful rally which has been held in Kabul city, they have insisted that the Governmental officials should not forget the political partnerships of Afghan Women within the Body of the Government.

A number of female Mps in lower house of the parliament have warned that if the Government doesn’t introduce at least 4 Women as the new Ministers Nominees for the cabinet otherwise we will not cast our votes to male Ministers.

Member of the Afghan Women Network AWN Miss Mahboba Saraj said,” the object of our rally is to demand our rights from the Governmental officials according to the percentages 9 chairs should be specialized for Women but we want at least 4 chairs from the Government.”

Members at AWN have also requested that lawmakers in the house of the parliament to cast their confidence votes for the female eligible Ministers nominees observing no racial, discrimination.

One of the Mps Rangina Kargar stated that our demand is the female Women Ministers Nominees in the new cabinet otherwise we will not vote for male Ministers.

Their remarks come after 3 Female Ministers have been introduced for the parliament to receive confidence votes but due to some technical problems could not make through in the first round of voting process, earlier Afghan Government has announced that at least we will have 4 female Ministers within the new cabinet.
