AWN Wants to See Afghan Women in Leadership Posts

The Afghan Women’s Network members have demanded the World to have the Afghan leader’s commitments over the roles and presence of women in leadership posts in Brussels summit, World should say to Afghan Government to allow women in peace negotiation process.

Member of the Afghan Women’s Network Roshan Siran said,” We demand the World to let Afghan women find its own position within the Afghan Government, we are tired of holding symbolic posts, the Afghan Government should allow women to be involved in different affairs of the Government.”

Members at the following network stated that women are forced to leave their job due to corruption or security condition.

Afghan Women’s Network member Samira Ahmadi said,” 10 out of 21 provinces women are working for the Government among those women only two of them are holding leadership posts.”

Women in Afghanistan have always been pushed back and never let to hold leadership posts.
