At least 1 woman killed and 15 civilians, including children and women were injured when a roadside bomb went off in Pul Khomri city of Baghlan province late Tuesday.

Aminullah Amar Khail, Baghlan security coammander confirmed the incident, saying all the victims are civilians.

Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud bang at 19:00 PM Tuesday night.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast, but roadside bombs are the Taliban’s weapon of choice in their battle against the US-backed government and foreign forces, that also increasingly kill and wound civilians.

The blast comes just a few minutes after a suicide attack took place in lashkargah area of Halmand province, killing seven and wounding another six.
