Former Afghan Female Journalist Assassinated in Kabul

A former Afghan female journalist was killed in an attack by unknown gunmen in the capital Kabul on Saturday morning, Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) said in a statement.

In a statement released on Saturday, MoI said that Mina Mangal, an adviser for cultural affairs commission at the lower house of the Afghan parliament was killed at around 7:20 am in PD8 area of Kabul city.

According to the statement, Kabul police have started the investigations to find out who the attackers were and what the motive behind the attack was.

Meanwhile, a security source said that the motive behind Ms. Mangal’s assassination was a family and private matter.

In a video message released on social media, the mother and some other relatives of Ms. Mangal also claim that Ms. Mangal is shot dead by her husband.
