President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday opened the domestic products exhibition in Kabul.

Initiated by the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) a three day Afghan domestic products exhibition held under Loya Jirga tent.

The exhibition showcasing Afghanistan domestic products such as; carpet industry, knitting, textiles, paintings, digging work, carving, pottery, food and other industries of the country.

The economy of Afghanistan has improved significantly since 2002 due to the infusion of billions of dollars in international assistance and investments, as well as remittances from Afghan expats.

The help that came from expats and outside investments saw this significant increase when there was more political reliability after the fall of the many terrorists groups in the early 2000s like the Taliban.

But some of Afghan investors expressed concern over government’s policy about investors.

Ahmad Zia Zia, an Afghan investor said, “President Ghani has promised us to support investment but today he had not any speech in the exhibition and did not hear investor’s problems.”

However, officials in AISA said that president Ghani promised to hear investor’s problems in the near future.

“President Ghani promised to meet investors in the coming Friday and discuss about solving problems.” Muhammad Ibrahim Shams, deputy of IASA said.

Likewise, Afghans who put their goods on display in the exhibition were supportive of the initiative for introducing Afghanistan’s domestic products and helping boost up the market inside and outside the country.
