The NATO and ISAF general commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Campbell, has asked the new Afghan President to eliminate political interference from the Afghan National Security Force (ANSF).

Talking to reporters through a video conference at the US Defense Department, the ISAF top commander in Afghanistan stated political interferences had been the biggest challenge to the Afghan Army.

The four-star American general expressed some decisions of previous Afghan government harmed the anti-terror mission of the Afghan forces.

He hoped the new government would not carry on interference into Army and would help combat against terrorism.

“The Afghan forces have good capability and have not allowed Taliban to retake control of any area, but they faced some challengers during the previous government and that Afghan Army didn’t reach some achievements. However, we hope President Ghani will eliminate those challenges. ”

These statements are expressed as 9,800 American Soldiers are staying in Afghanistan after 2014 based on the bilateral security agreement signed last week between Kabul and Washington.
