NATO Resolute Support findings revealed that 5,000 Afghan security forces were killed and about 15,000 others were wounded in the fight against the terrorists in the year 2015, but Afghan Ministry of Defense rejected the figures.

A Resolute Support Mission spokesman who was speaking with the reports on Friday said that NATO is concerned about the number of Afghan causalities and they are working with the Afghan forces to try to reduce the number of casualties in 2016.

“What we saw in 2015 was the Afghans, the ANDSF where at large, did take a tremendous number of casualties. But what we also saw was how resilient these forces are. And overall, we think the Afghans took in the neighborhood of about 20,000 casualties, both killed and wounded. And for many militaries, that would break their back,” NATO Resolute Support Mission Spokesman BG. Charles Cleveland said,” But what we saw with the Afghans, is that they were able to be resilient. They were able to continue to regroup and they were now of course able to move out on the offense.”

Meanwhile officials in Ministry of Defense has stated that Afghan security forces are fighting instead of the world in the front line against terrorists, but rejected the number of the causalities released by NATO.

Ministry of Defense Deputy Spokesman Mohammad Radmanish said,” We do have causalities, but not what NATO released. I don’t confirm that causality numbers.”

MP Nazeer Ahmad Ahmadzai said,” International countries supports and poor management of war in Afghanistan has caused the huge number of the Afghan security forces to be killed.”

According to the reports, currently the Afghan security forces are fighting against the terrorists in 17 provinces of Afghanistan.
