NDS seizes weapons, explosives caches in E. Afghanistan
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s Intelligence Agency has seized 3 weapons and explosives caches during separate operations in Logar province of Afghanistan.
According to a statement released by the Afghan Spy Agency on Thursday, three weapons and explosives caches were seized in Azra and Khoshi districts of Logar province.
The caches belonged to Haqqani terrorist network, who were planning to launch coordinated suicide attacks in Pul-e-Alam city, the statement added.
NDS said the caches included many different types of weapons and explosives.
2 suspects were also arrested in connection to the storage of the weapons and explosives for the attack plot, NDS said.
Armed-militant groups have not commented regarding the report yet.
This was the third large attack plot by Haqqani terrorist network which have been thwarted by NDS operatives in the country within the past few days.
